West Indies tour of Bangladesh, 2021 – Live video streaming g
So, Day 3 ends with the game moving steadily. Still, a lot of time left in the game as we don't know who has the upper hand in the game. How will Day 4 unfold? What target will Bangladesh be hoping to set for the West Indies to chase? All answers will unfold on Day 4 when the game begins at 0930 local (0330 GMT). Till then cheers and take care.
For Bangladesh with the ball, it was Mehidy Hasan who bagged 4 wickets as Nayeem Hasan, Taijul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman bagged a couple each. They were just relentless in the field. Bowling tight lines and lengths and asking a question to the batsmen on every ball. Though they would be disappointed to have dropped a few chances and some of the chances flew past their fielders. But overall it was the effort of their spinners that handed them the advantage in the game.
Earlier after coming out to bat at 75/2 West Indies began shockingly as they lost Nkrumah Bonner on the first ball of the day. Since that wicket, Kraigg Brathwaite and Kyle Mayers put up a 55-run stand as Brathwaite went past his 20th Test fifty but could not convert it into a ton as he departed owing to an error in judgement. Mayers too followed soon after. Putting Jermaine Blackwood and Joshua Da Silva in a precarious situation. The duo first saw a few overs before Lunch and when they came back after Lunch they started to score freely. As Blackwood went past his fifty and both the batsmen were involved in a 99-run stand. Just at the stroke of Tea, West Indies lost both of them and after Tea when the play resumed they just collapsed. Folding for 259 runs and handing a huge lead of 171 runs to Bangladesh.
West Indies would be happy with the ball as they managed to get 3 quick wickets to keep them in the hunt after a shoddy batting from their lower order handed the advantage back to the hosts. Cornwall's double strike in his first over did not allow Bangladesh to implode and the wicket of Shadman Islam forced the hosts to adopt the defensive way.
Bangladesh would be disappointed with their batting in the second innings as they lost 3 wickets to get themselves under pressure. Though they would also be happy that the lead is well over 200 and when they come out to bat of Day 4 they would look to add some quick runs and look for a target close to 350 for the West Indies to chase.
What an engrossing day of Test match we have had today. The bowlers dominating, then the batsmen fighting it out and amidst all this runs were scored. Bangladesh might be marginally ahead but West Indies are still in the game and they would look to get the pendulum swing in their favour when they come out on Day 4.
