Before this, Bangladesh will tour Pakistan

The Bangladesh national cricket team will now travel to Pakistan on August 12, five days ahead of the initial plan, to prepare for the upcoming two-match Test series starting in Rawalpindi on August 21.

livecricketbd had earlier reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has offered to host Bangladesh for an extended period by providing all necessary training facilities in Rawalpindi due to the ongoing civil unrest in Bangladesh.

The PCB has confirmed that the Bangladesh team will train at the Gaddafi Stadium on August 14-16 and travel to Islamabad on August 17 for a practice session at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on August 18-20.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Nasir said, "Sports is not just about winning and losing, it is also about friendship." "I am confident that the additional training sessions in Lahore will allow the players to showcase their best skills and talents on the world stage.

"We are delighted that the BCB has accepted our offer and we look forward to welcoming the Bangladesh men's cricket team to Lahore on August 13 with our traditional hospitality. This will allow them three more days of training and practice at one of our iconic venues before moving to Islamabad as originally planned."

In another development, Bangladesh's foreign coaching staff pulled out of practice sessions in Bangladesh as their respective embassies imposed travel restrictions due to the political situation in the country.

The foreign coaching staff includes head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, bowling coach Andre Adams, assistant coach Nick Pothus, spin consultant Mushtaq Ahmed, batting coach David Hemp and strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kelly.

A BCB official told LiveCricketBD, "We cannot force them (foreign coaching staff) to attend practice sessions due to their travel ban. The fact that several police stations in the city are still non-functional is a major concern." We are working to bring the team to Pakistan first.

It is also understood that Shakib Al Hasan and Shariful Islam, currently in Canada for the Global Twenty20 League, will head straight to Pakistan if selected for the Test squad, which is expected to be announced on August 11
