Bangladesh's youth team is the best in Asia after defeating India
When the game is cricket and the opponent is India, the occasion becomes a little bigger for any cricket team of Bangladesh these days. And if that match is a final, then the excitement level goes up a lot. Bangladesh won the Under-19 Asia Cup again by defeating India in another such match in Dubai today.
Bangladesh's youth team, who won the Under-19 Asia Cup for the first time by defeating the United Arab Emirates by 195 runs in the final last year, today blew away India and lifted the crown of Asian supremacy for the second time in a row. Azizul Hakim won today by 59 runs.
Bangladesh Under-19 team, which was elected to bat, managed to score 198 runs before being all out in 49.1 overs. This run became a mountain for India due to the dominance of Bangladesh's pacers. India was all out for 139 runs in 35.2 overs. This is the first time that the Indians have failed to lift the champion's trophy after playing in the Youth Asia Cup final for the ninth time.
Pacer Al Fahad bowled Ayush Matre in the second over to give Bangladesh their first wicket. In the fifth over, left-arm pacer Maruf Mridha dealt a big blow to India by dismissing cricket's new wonder-boy Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The 13-year-old Suryavanshi, who had scored 67 runs off 36 balls against Sri Lanka in the semi-final, was caught by Shihab James for 9 runs off 7 balls, leaving the team at 24.
As soon as the Indians added 20 runs to their score, the Bangladeshi youth team erupted in joy again. This time, pacer Rizan Hasan's victim was Andre Siddharth (20). From there, India's captain Mohammad Aman and KP Karthikeya were leading the team. However, in the 21st over, another pacer, Iqbal Hossain Emon, took 2 wickets off three balls and handed the match to Bangladesh.
Two great balls from Iqbal caught wicketkeeper Farid Hasan, Karthikeya (21) and Nikhil Kumar (0). In his next over, Iqbal also forced Harvansh Pangulia to be caught by Farid's gloves. Three overs later, Al Fahad took another wicket to make India's score 92/7.
However, Indian captain Aman was still alive after being cut in the throat. Bangladesh recovered that cut in the 32nd over. Bangladesh captain Azizul Hakim bowled the opposing captain off spin. After losing the eighth wicket for 115 runs, India only reduced the gap. Azizul also took the last two wickets of India.
