Warner, who is set to resign from Test cricket after the Sydney Test against Pakistan one year from now, scored 535 runs at the World Cup at a normal of almost 50. The opening batter is among the host of multi-design players being rested for the series, alongside Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Cam Green and Mitchell Marsh. Live Cricket Match India vs Australia, 2nd T20I

Aaron Hardie, the Western Australian pace-bowling all-rounder who made his presentation for Australia in South Africa recently, has been added to the T20I squad. Furthermore, Kane Richardson has been added as a replacement for Spencer Johnson, who is recovering from a hamstring injury.

Andre Borovec has been announced as stand-in coach, filling in for full-time coach Andrew McDonald who will get back for a break.

The Australian side will be driven by Matthew Wade in this series, which will round up Australia's long tour of India, which started in September 2023 with a three-match ODI series, and ends with the T20I series, with the World Cup sandwiched in between - a tournament in which Australia beating hosts India in the summit clash to clinch their sixth title. Australia are further set to play a three-match series against New Zealand, and another against West Indies in February 2024 in anticipation of the worldwide T20 title.
