Nazmul left the post of BCB president, Farooq Ahmed is the new president

The Nazmul Hasan-era in Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has come to an end. Nazmul Hasan resigned through mail in the meeting of BCB Board of Directors held today in the conference room of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Former national team captain and former chief selector Farooq Ahmed has become the new board president. A BCB director confirmed the matter to Prothom Alo.

In 2012, Nazmul Hasan took charge of BCB as the government-nominated president. He was elected president in October 2013. Since then, Nazmul has served as the BCB president for three terms. The tenure of Nazmul Hasan's board of directors was supposed to end in October next year. He withdrew before the country's political change.

Earlier, Jalal Yunus resigned from the post of BCB director. The National Sports Council (NSC) nominated director was in charge of cricket management department in BCB. He was asked to resign from NSC.

Ahmed Sazzadul Alam, another director of BCB nominated by the organization, has also been exempted from NSC. Cricket coach and analyst Nazmul Abedin became the new director in his place.

Farooq Ahmed was brought in as director in the vacant position of Jalal Yunus. After that, he was elected president by the board of directors.
