The decision to host the Champions Trophy in a hybrid model had already been finalised. This time, in exchange for hosting India's matches in the ICC Champions Trophy at neutral venues, the ICC, BCCI and PCB have agreed to a condition that Pakistan will play their matches at neutral venues in ICC events hosted by India until 2027.
The term of the condition begins with this year's ICC Champions Trophy. Then, the condition will also be in force for the Women's ODI World Cup in India next year and the Men's T20 World Cup in 2026. Sri Lanka and India are joint hosts of the Men's T20 World Cup in 2026. The condition will also be in force for the Women's T20 World Cup in 2028. This is the first tournament in the next ICC event cycle to be hosted in Pakistan
