Imrul lashed out at BPL players draft pointing to Mashrafe

Imrul Kayes did not hide anything. The Bangladeshi opener is angry about being in the 'C' category in the BPL players' draft. BCB has finalized the names of 188 local players in 6 categories for the upcoming BPL.

There, Mashrafe bin Mortaza, who is away from cricket, was placed in 'B' category, but Imrul got a place in 'C' category. So this cricketer also pointed towards Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in the post on social media.

In the upcoming BPL, the value of the cricketers in the 'A' category is 60 lakhs. 12 grade 'A' cricketers Liton Das, Mahmudullah, Shariful Islam, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Rishad Hossain, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mostafizur Rahman, Nazmul Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahmed and Tawhid Hriday are in the draft list of local players.

Cricketers in 'B' category cost 40 lakh rupees. This list includes Mashrafe Bin Mortaza Afif Hossain, Enamul Haque, Hasan Mahmud, Zaker Ali, Shamim Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Parvez Hossain, Mehedi Hasan, Tanveer Islam, Tanjid Hasan and Tanzim Hasan.

Cricketers in 'C' category cost 25 lakh rupees. In this list, Imrul is with Mohammad Saifuddin, Muminul Haque, about which he has raised anger with a status on Facebook.

He started writing like this, 'Assalamu Alaikum. Looking at the grading of the cricketers before the BPL players draft, I am wondering what the grading is actually based on. National team, domestic performance throughout the year, BPL performance or just by name. A cricketer who is not around cricket throughout the year is placed in “B” grade.

But the cricketers who performed well in the last BPL are in "C" grade. But is the BPL draft grade determined by name or appearance alone?' Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is the only player in the 'B' grade who is not a regular in domestic cricket now, in fact not playing anything other than the BPL.

Highlighting his experience in BPL, Imrul Kayes said, 'I did not do well for Comilla Victorians in the 2018-19 season of BPL. That's why I was dropped from the national team after the West Indies series. Later, when I spoke to a BCB official, he said that my performance in the BPL was not good enough. As I could not perform as per expectations, I accepted such a decision without any hesitation.'

Imrul Kayes then added, 'But I continue to work hard to return to the national team. I scored 442 runs in 13 matches for Chittagong Challengers in 2019-20 season. But despite such performance I was not called to the national team. Even the national team was not kept in any camp. But if you do not perform in the BPL except? But if you perform, that too is not taken into consideration. Our cricket woes will not end?

Imrul Kayes scored 152 runs in 5 matches for Comilla last season. In total, Imrul is the sixth highest run scorer in BPL. Scored 2340 runs in 111 matches, strike rate 117.29, average 23.87. But beyond these, he has another identity. This opener has won 3 titles for Comilla as captain.
