The moment has finally come when all the cricketing eyes will be glued to the TV sets to watch the biggest names in the game go under the hammer. As many as 333 players will be offered to bid, and ten teams will have a hard day out to get the best out of these in their limited cash reserves. There are a total of 77 slots to be filled among all the franchises. All the teams have revamped their squad to go harder in the upcoming season. Chennai Super Kings won the previous edition in a thrilling fashion, but a new season brings equal opportunities for all the participants.
Speaking more about IPL 2024 auction, the event will be held at the Coca-Cola Arena, in Dubai, the UAE on Tuesday, December 19. Mallika Sagar, the dazzling auctioneer who successfully conducted the WPL Auctions previously, will be inviting bids from the tables. After the auction, the trading window will be open again from December 20, wherein players from different franchises may be traded, but only for an P2P (Player-To-Player) exchange.
The auction is surely going to set the stage ablaze, as a lot of impressive names have beeen registered ahead of the seventeenth edition of the most lucrative T20 league in the world. The Aussie tripling of Travis Head, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc will catch the majority of the eyeballs. Whereas, the Kiwi all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, who had a phenomenal World Cup campaign, will also attract bidders when his name comes out of the kitty. Apart from them, players like Gerald Coetzee and Shardul Thakur might bag big bucks.
