Mayank stormed India's T20 team against Bangladesh
The 15-member India squad for the T20 series against Bangladesh has been announced. In the team led by Suryakumar Yadav, fast bowler Mayank Yadav has been called up for the first time. After three years, spinner Varun Chakraborty has been reinstated.
Yasaswi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Mohammad Siraj, Shubman Gill, and Akshar Patel, who are all regulars in the T20 team, have been rested.
Mayank, who is 22 years old, participated for the first time in the IPL this year. He also took the field with a storm of speed for the first time for Lucknow Super Giants. He only appeared in four games before an injury kept him out. He got seven wickets.
India's team: Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Ryan Parag, Nitish Kumar, Shivam Dubey, Washington Sundar, Ravi Binchoy, Varun Chakraborty, Jitesh Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Mayank Yadav are the captains of the team.
Barun, a mystery spinner who last played in a Twenty20 International in 2021, has been included in the series against Bangladesh in addition to Mayank. In 15 IPL matches, Barun took 21 wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders, who won the trophy in 2024.
The team now includes Harshit Rana, Mayank, Nitish Kumar, Abhishek Sharma, Jitesh Sharma, and Barun. They all made the India team for the tour of Zimbabwe in July, but they didn't play in the series against Sri Lanka that followed.
The Sri Lankan series squad has rested Jaiswal, Gill, Pant, Akshar, and Siraj.
The three T20I series begins on October 6 in Gwalior with the first match. After the second match on October 9 in Delhi, the series will come to an end on October 12 in Hyderabad.
