The BCCI selection panel has picked Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana to travel to Zimbabwe for the first two T20Is of the five-match series. The threesome have been picked as replacements for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

While Sudharsan has already made his presentation in ODIs - in South Africa last year, Jitesh has played nine T20Is for India having made his introduction in the Asian Games in 2023. Harshit, who had a noteworthy IPL with eventual champions Kolkata Knight Riders, is uncapped at the international level.

Samson, Dube and Jaiswal were a part of the Indian squad that won the T20 World Cup on Saturday (June 29) and their departure to India from Barbados was delayed as a result of a Hurricane.

The BCCI has confirmed that the World Cup-winning triplet will first travel to India with the other individuals from the Caribbean before departing for Harare for the final three T20Is.

India have picked a fairly unpracticed squad for the five-match T20I series with Shubman Gill being named captain. The series will kickstart on July 6 and conclude on July 14 with all five games scheduled to be played at the Harare Sports Club
