PCB has finalized the Bangladesh series schedule

Bangladesh will have two Tests against Pakistan next month in Rawalpindi and Karachi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its international schedule for the 2024-25 season, including a Test series against Bangladesh next month. During this time, Pakistan will play a total of three Test series.

The first Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan will start on August 21 in Rawalpindi. The second Test in Karachi starts on August 30. Bangladesh went to Pakistan to play the last Test in 2020. However, only one test was used when the coronavirus pandemic started.

Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain said, "We are looking forward to returning to Pakistan as a team to participate in the ICC World Test Championship. Playing in Pakistan is always challenging, but also exciting. We have to give our best to compete against a strong team at home.

BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, 'We thank PCB for confirming the schedule of ICC World Test Championship matches. We will be tested in this series. But this is also an opportunity to show our improvement in this edition.

Despite playing 13 Tests against Pakistan till now, Bangladesh has not got any victory. The only drawn Test came in 2015 in Khulna. The two teams have not met in this edition since 2021.

 First Test, 21-25 August, Rawalpindi
Second Test, 30 August–3 September, Karachi

Apart from Bangladesh, Pakistan will play Test series against England (3) and West Indies (2) in 2024-25 season. Apart from this, the PCB has also announced to play a tri-nation ODI series with New Zealand and South Africa in view of the Champions Trophy next year. After 2004, there was no such series on Pakistani soil.

At the same time, the PCB has also announced the possible start and end date of Champions Trophy 2025. February 19 is the opening match and March 9 is the day of the final. However, ICC will announce the final schedule of this tournament. There is considerable doubt whether India will go to the country and play in this tournament.

However, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, 'Pakistan's status and status in international cricket has been revealed through the participation of five cricket players before the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 and the participation of seven other countries (including Pakistan). We highly value the contribution of all these teams and players.
