The first ball of the new season of the National Cricket League. At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Khulna pacer Al Amin Hossain's ball was going far outside the off stump. Rajshahi's opener Tanjid Hasan took the catch at third slip, trying to slip the ball through slip and gully. Mehdi Hasan dropped the easy catch. The left-handed opener of the national team was unbeaten on 126 runs after scoring his third century against Khulna two years ago. Hitting 19 fours and 4 sixes, Tanjid would have reached his highest innings in this edition if he had got another boundary. Tanjid scored 145 runs against Dhaka Metropolitan in the National Cricket League in 2021-22 season. It was his first century in first-class cricket.
Tanjid today made a partnership of 44 runs with Sabbir Hossain (18) for the first wicket. Habibur Rahman (13) left him after 28 runs. Then Tanjid's 105-run partnership with Pritam Kumar. Wicketkeeper batsman Pritam returns with 46 runs off 62 balls. Tanjid, who scored a 40-ball fifty and a 101-ball century, then added 84 runs for the fourth wicket with Farhad as the fourth batsman. The pace bowler returned with a catch behind the wicket, the wicketkeeper Mohammad Mithun took the catch from Abdul Halim.
