Bangladesh will play their first match against India in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The match will be held in Dubai on February 20. The Champions Trophy will start a day before that in Pakistan.
Yesterday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) finalized Dubai as the neutral venue for the Champions Trophy after talking to the United Arab Emirates. The Middle Eastern country will host the Pakistan-India high-voltage match on February 23.

PCB spokesperson Amir Mir said that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with Sheikh Nahyan Al Mubarak, Senior Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), in Pakistan yesterday. The PCB spokesperson said, “The PCB has selected the United Arab Emirates as the neutral venue for the Champions Trophy.”
In addition to Dubai, Colombo, Sri Lanka was in discussion as the neutral venue for the Champions Trophy. Earlier last week, the ICC announced that Pakistan and India will not visit each other's countries in the next four ICC tournaments organized by the PCB and BCCI, including the upcoming Champions Trophy. The visiting team will play their matches at neutral venues.
A total of 8 teams are participating in this year's Champions Trophy. Among them, the hosts Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and New Zealand are in Group 'A'. The first match of the tournament will be in Karachi on February 19, Pakistan's opponent is New Zealand. Pakistan will play the second match of the group stage against India in Dubai, then against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on February 27.
Group 'B' includes Australia, England, South Africa and Afghanistan. Except for India's matches, all the remaining matches of the two groups will be held in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi. One day each has been reserved for the two semi-finals on March 4 and 5. If India reaches the semi-finals, they will play in Dubai on March 4. If they reach the final, the title decider on March 9 will also be held there. And if India fails to reach the final or semi-finals, that match will be hosted by Pakistan.
